2016 SUZUKI RM-Z450 Review

In addition to the revised Holeshot auxiliary control system, large RM habitat unchanged until 2016.

Sweeping overhaul to motorcycle production is usually in waves. Manufacturers tend to launch a new model, and then follow with another modified before unveiling a new small machine years later. The Suzuki RM-Z450 is no exception. Since 2008 it has appeared the same, but there have been numerous times along the way iterations to become the new 2016 model on.

In 2015, RM-Z450 introduced a new frame and engine, and Showa SFF- air suspension. As a package, the RM outperformed the previous models, so there is no doubt, he has left the 2016 Suzuki bike almost unchanged. Small teaks including revised map 2016 Suzuki Holeshot auxiliary control system, designed to make bike more controllable off the line. There is a lighter front brake caliper, plus a slightly different pattern.

On Tracks

The new framework and 2015 RM-Z450 SFF- Showa fork improves the front air ride and smooth, rough to the touch while still maintaining excellent cornering Suzuki strength. Since the device does not change '16, new RM performs the same is true. The SFF- air fork, and challenging to fully understand and settings, the effect is very good, once called, in order to smooth the first part of the trip, we increased the air pressure inside the fork compression damping two forks and shocks. These changes make the fork to stay in the sweet spot of the trip, eliminating our problems.

On balance, 2016 Suzuki RM-Z450 is one of the heaviest in its class, weighing 247 pounds, but claimed that it does not feel heavy on the track. Turn is excellent, and when the new RM-Z450 remains stable at high speed, it feels light and flickable Suzuki in the air.

Liquid cooled 449cc DOHC single holding in similar products in the strongest, one of the best pulling power. Right off the bottom, driven by strong top-end pull and lead to health. Each gear provide a smooth transition to the next is not too short. Suzuki makes can be swapped out using different ignition couplers, create three different power curve, lean, rich and standards.

Lean to make a greater impact, but we found that standards provide plenty of power. If you are looking for more power, but the sale of the exhaust pipe should broaden the delivery of electricity at the same time increase the fight low, and save a lot of weight. Finally, double Holeshot auxiliary control mode works well, when traction is good or when it is not being used the way.

The verdict

No significant change in the 2016 Super Suzuki RM-Z450, but you can say, nothing needs to be fixed. 2015 bike is already a good 450cc motocrosser, it handles well, there is enough momentum, and very comfortable for the average rider, so why change a good thing? We've spent 2016 RM-Z450, we came away happy. If you like the 2015 RM, you'll love the 2016 RM.
