"You see, you want to go." Even a beginning rider course should teach you, it is a reasonable proposal, no matter how much experience you have. Cycling is the place you are looking for. If there are potholes in front of you or debris, or a car pulls out, or an animal gets in your way, do not look directly at it, find a way out, the place where you want to go.
Two inferences: read the turn, not just at the apex. Second, do not look in front of you; see in front of you. Flat track riders called rapid vision of "riding the front wheel." You will never be safe, if you do not look far enough ahead.
